This week we wanted to highlight a sweet Pembroke Welsh Corgi Dewey aka DewDew.
In Dewey’s 5 years of life, he has lived well and serves others with an open heart as a Therapy Dog. Dewey's owner Lori shared that, " He has spent a great deal of his time seeking out patients in Hospitals who need his love and understanding where he nestles up close and gives gentle kisses and nudges to pet him." Dewey goes to Retirement & Nursing Homes, Schools, and Universities, but his specialty is loving those in Hospice care and their family members.
In Dewey's “off” time he plays and teaches his younger sister, Pearl, just how to be a Corgi. Dewey loves to Paddle Board with Lori, and loves hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia. He loves to hike with his best friend “Amos” a Border Collie/Aussie mix. Dewey is also considered to be a “CataCorg” as he not only shares life with his Corgi sister but with three indoor Cats as well. Lori said that Dewey is convinced he is a Cat.
Dewey came to our clinic with issues with his right rear leg. Dr. Roach provided Biological Therapy to Dewey, and that has helped his leg tremendously. Dewey is on the road to recovery. Dewey is now able to paddleboard and hike with much more ease.
