Amanda's Story
Raised in a household where animals were always part of the family, Amanda grew up surrounded by dogs, farm animals, and even a few exotics that her parents lovingly raised as pets. From an early age, respecting and rescuing animals was simply a way of life.
She and her husband are Midwest City High School sweethearts and have been happily married for 30 years. After joining the military, they spent nearly three decades living out of state before returning to Midwest City last year, coming full circle to where their journey began.
Amanda's veterinary career started locally at just 15 years old as a kennel technician, gradually training and growing into a hospital assistant role over the years. She has worked in the veterinary field for more than 20 years, with the last decade focused on the clerical and client-care side of veterinary medicine. She especially enjoys greeting pets and their owners and finds the greatest reward in seeing them leave with a smile and a wagging tail!
At home, she is the proud pet parent of two dogs: Ragnar, her gentle giant German Shepherd, and Annie, a spirited Poodle-Maltese mix. She also shares her life with Larry Bird, a talkative 15-year-old cockatiel, along with five fish.
